How to Host Your Own Burger Bar PartySaturday, May 28, 2016
A few years ago I had a Burger Bar Birthday Party and since it's almost summer weather, National Burger Day AND Memorial Day Weekend (not to mention my birthday yesterday) it's the perfect time to host another Burger Bar Party!
8 oz tray of Mushrooms, sliced
1 small Onion, sliced
1 lb Ground Beef
1/2 C Fischer & Wieser Garlic Steak & Grilling Sauce
Parmesan Cheese, grated
Heat a little olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and allow them to brown. Don't fuss with them too much just let them begin to caramelize. Once they begin to brown, throw in the mushrooms. Again, the trick is not over-stirring the mushrooms & onions. Every couple of minutes just give them a little stir to shift them around in the pan. Continue cooking them until the onions are soft (about 10 minutes).
Meanwhile, form the beef into 4 patties. Using a brush give them a good coating of the Garlic Grilling Sauce on both sides. Throw them on a hot grill for about 5 minutes. Feel free to baste them with a little more sauce and then turn them and let them cook 5 more minutes. Remove them from the heat and allow them to rest for about 3-4 minutes.
Place them on a bun and sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top, then load on the mushroom/onion mixture. There's no need for ketchup on these babies. The garlic, parmesan & caramelize flavor is plenty!
2 Ripe Avocados (preferably Haas)1 Jalapeno, finely chopped
Juice of small lime
2 T Cilantro, chopped
1 T Onion Powder
2 lbs Ground Meat
Handful of Pickled Jalapenos, chopped
Combine avocados through onion powder together in a bowl to create the guacamole (this can be done up to an hour in advance). Heat your grill to high.
Form the meat into patties 1" thick. Place on hot grill for 4-5 minutes then turn and continue cooking on medium. In the last minute place shredded cheddar on the burgers. Close the lid of your grill.
Remove burgers from grill, top with guacamole & pickled jalapenos. I like to give mine a little extra kick with some salsa.
Blue Cheese Burgers
1/4 C Blue Cheese, crumbled
1/4 C Red Wine
1/4 C White Onion, chopped fine
1 lb. Ground Beef
Preheat your grill. Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl until well mixed. Divide into patties. Brush each patty with a little of the oil and then place on hot grill. Cook around 4 minutes then turn over and continue cooking on medium for 4-5 minutes more. Remove from grill and dress your burger as you normally would (ketchup, mustard, etc.).
Paired with a good margarita and you can't go wrong with either one of these. Tell me... what do you like on your burgers?
