Personalizing Your Planner

Thursday, September 11, 2014

One of the things that is most important to me is to create planners that can be personalized. Planners are personal - they're like a journal of your daily life. Because of this, I made sure to give you the ability to put your own unique name & personality on your planner.

I've spent countless hours on the most nit-picky of details of our launch… from shipping notification emails to each step of the ordering process, so [as you can imagine] personalization was something I poured over for countless days. But in the end, as with everything else, I feel like it's worth the attention to detail. Ready to see?

As a full fledged bookworm, I thought it would be fun to model my examples off some of my favorite strong heroines from fiction. See if you can figure out who's who on my list.

There is ONE exception… one name on this list is someone who inspires me daily that I wanted to honor on this list of strong females -my daughter, who's initials are KED. I love her tenacity and her ability to be herself in all situations - I find it awe inspiring to watch as she grows into a strong woman. She, at the age of 7, models for me my own hopes of confidence and strength.

Okay, the rest are easy to figure out… but a few may be a little tricky, so here's a few clues:

• Kate - You may recognize this name from a favorite play by Shakespeare - they think she requires taming, but I think she just full of sass.

• BP - From a recent YA fiction who proves that she is "dauntless."

• KSO - A great book, but an even more famous movie. If I'd wanted to, we could have used the name of her plantation, Tara.

• S - A more recent book [which was turned into a movie]. I could have chosen Aibileen or Minny, as those are two other strong women from this novel.

Feel free to comment with your guesses - or even your favorite strong women from fiction. I'd love to know!

  2. Gorgeous! Love your heroines! What is the paper weight of the interior pages of the planner going to be?

    1. Great question Cristina - paper weight was very important to us. We wanted to create a book that felt luxurious and high quality. We use 140 gsm paper (translates to about 100#) which means it has a nice thick feel to the touch and are opaque, so you can't see through to the other side.

  4. Hi Crystal - we are finalizing all the pricing, but we are anticipating that it will be in the $50 range (including the hard cover, elastic closure band, pocket folders, accordion pocket, & clear plastic page marker). Hope that helps! Thanks for stopping by the blog!

  5. Absolutely wonderful!
I love all the font choices, but I must say I am partial to the "S" since that is my first initial, but more importantly because I LOVE The Help, and Eugenia "Skeeter" is one of my favorite characters. But Katniss Everdeen, Katie Scarlett O'Hara, and Katherina Minola definitely make my top 20!

    1. Thanks Stephanie! I have to agree - The Help is one of my favorites too…Skeeter is a great strong character, but you have to love the spunk of Minny. The hardest part of this list was narrowing it down!
