Well, we're on the nine week countdown until the home tour, so this weekend we focused on the playroom. This room's original purpose was to be the formal living room but that really didn't work for us... we are not very formal people. We have no settees on which to sit politely and eat finger sandwiches. Thus,we converted the space into a play area for the two babes.
I remember pre-kid wondering why all parents have SO many toys scattered all over their houses... then I became a parent and realized that, yes, these toys seem to multiply like rabbits. So, needless to say, we started with a little toy purge (when I say little I mean several trash bags full). The kids at the Ronald McDonald House will be enjoying our toys for years to come while I enjoy a little more organization... it's a win-win situation, I think.
I store extra toys to rotate out inside the armoire along with my wireless printer & office supplies.
The dress up area
This is the home area complete with mini kitchen handmade by my dad. The cradle was also made by my parents for me when I was a girl.
This room will be receiving some recessed lighting this week, so the two overhead lamps will be going away. Any ideas of what I can do to make this room look a little more fun? I was considering some chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling... what are your ideas for this space?
